Frequently Asked Questions

Can construction or utility work trucks in Texas run blue lights?

Yes, with conditions. Texas Transportation Code § 547.305(e-4) allows vehicles listed in § 545.157(a), including highway construction vehicles, utility service trucks, and waste collection trucks, to be equipped with flashing blue lights. Amber remains the baseline warning color, and TxDOT equipment standards govern how the lighting is displayed on active work. We wire blue and amber on independent switches so crews can run the right configuration for the situation.

What color warning lights are legal on a commercial work truck in Texas?

Amber is the universally legal warning color for commercial and construction vehicles. Red and blue as a combination are reserved for authorized emergency vehicles, and private security patrol vehicles are limited to green, amber, or white under § 547.305(e-1). If your truck escorts oversize loads, alternating blue and amber is permitted under § 547.305(e-3).

Why not just go with the cheapest lighting quote?

Because cheap installs usually cost double. We regularly rework budget installs that failed early: unlabeled wiring bundled into a "bird nest" inside the console, unfused circuits creating heat and arcing near insulation, and lights that quit when the truck hits washboard roads. That means a vehicle down for repair and out of service, and in the worst case a fire risk. Our installs are soldered, loomed, grommeted, and tested for hours before delivery, and the work carries a one-year guarantee.

How does Flasher Fleet Solutions spec a lighting package for my truck?

We start with how you actually use the vehicle, not a parts list: night work or daytime, in and out of the cab or stationary, live-road or off-road site. Those answers drive the angles, brightness, and light performance that make sense, and then we walk you through options that will perform for your use case instead of what just looks familiar.

What warranty comes with an upfit?

Everything we install carries a one-year guarantee on both workmanship and product. If something needs warranty attention, we handle it, and for fleet customers we come to you rather than making you bring the vehicle in.
